Air
Quality
The problems with indoor air quality are more recognized
everyday. We are all affected by the quality of our air. If you suffer
from allergies, headaches, fatigue, or any number of other symptoms, the
quality of your homes air might be to blame.
Some
common pollutants that could be hampering the quality of your life are
mold, bacteria, dust mites, and pollens just to name a few.
The
air quality systems you’ll find at Thornton’s are top of the
line. We offer a variety of air filtration systems using HEPA, media and
electronic filters. We also offer systems that use ultraviolet light to
kill harmful pollutants.
Media
filters are large filters that can be attached to your forced air system.
These thick filters prevent harmful materials from being re-circulated
through your home.
HEPA are efficient filtration devices that trap 99.97% of particles that
pass through (0.3 microns or larger) so they are not allowed to be re-circulated.
A powerful fan channels a variety of particles through the HEPA air filter,
including dust, pollen, mold spores, and other allergens.
Electronic air purifiers charge the particles in the air and then attract
them back into the system. They are safe and can be cleaned quickly and
easily. Electronic filters also take away the need to replace filters
on a regular basis.
UV light changes the DNA makeup of the cells that are in your air. This
alteration disables organisms such as viruses, bacteria, and mold, and
prevents them from being able to reproduce. In addition, these pollutants
are pulled back in and disposed of.
Many filtration systems pull all particles out of the air, including humidiy
(water) that is in the air. Humidity is important in keeping your body
hydrated which prevents dry, scratchy throats and dry skin. We can also
install humidifiers that you can use in conjunction with your air purification
system to keep your home and body at their maximum comfort level.
Thornton’s
high quality units are whole house solutions, unlike less effective portable
units. Those units are usually designed for one room. Remember, with air
quality you get what you pay for.
